Meet the Bruce Family
Hi there, we’re the Bruce family. Originally from New Zealand, we’ve been living and serving in the Kansai region of Japan since 2022.
We’re involved in encouraging the church, building relationships, and creating opportunities for people to encounter Jesus. It’s an exciting time to be here—we’re seeing God at work, and it’s a privilege to be part of it.
What we’re Doing
Our work here in Japan is simple and relational. We want to help people encounter Jesus and grow in faith through everyday life and community.
Our mission is:
- Hosting praise and worship gatherings
- Building relationships and sharing Jesus personally
- Encouraging and supporting believers in their faith
- Teaching and discipling those who want to grow
- Connecting with other workers across Japan
- Supporting and welcoming new missionaries

Why Japan?
Japan is often described as one of the least reached places in the world, but living here, we’ve come to see that more personally.
The people are thoughtful, resilient, and shaped by a deep and rich culture. At the same time, many have never really encountered the message of the Gospel in a personal way. For some, Christianity is simply seen as something foreign or distant.
There are many ways we could explain the need here, but more than anything, we’re convinced that God loves the people of Japan. And we’re beginning to see a quiet openness—small but real signs that He is at work.
It’s a privilege to be here, and we believe there is much more to come!
